Craft Dungeon

As promised I am going to be playing catch up with blog post so here we go.

Welcome to my craft Dungeon!!

Many of you know we had to move in with my mom some time back and it as been a interesting time. The biggest problem for me was where to craft at. I would work on things in the bedroom but I would end up waking Dave or mom up with the heat gun or cause of talking to friends online. So in the summer I turned my mom's basement in to my craft room which after talking to A friend it is known as the Dungeon.

We took all the things that was in the little room down there up to our (me & Dave's) storage unit and set out to make the Dungeon.

                                                                        room o' crap

The room cleared out. it's not that big but it works for me (7x12)

and done!!!!! it's not that clean now but hey I have been having fun in here!!

Thanks for stopping by

I have webs back!!!

I have internet back WOOOO HOOOO!!!! I lost it months ago but now we have it the house. So now I can blog again. I don't know if any one even still follows me or reads my post but I can still hope. I do have some post that I have to do about what I have done over the summer. I have a craft room now (my Dungeon) and I did a few knitted projects as well. I did take most of the summer off from any crafting and did a lot of reading. With having the Dungeon I will now be able to craft more and I am looking forward to it. I will try my best to post as offen as I can even if I dont have crafty stuff to show you. I will be adding life posts as well but dont worry I will try to keep rants down. At some point I was thinking to stop all other postings (twitter/facebook/ect) and just go to blogging but that is still in the air. I hope that you are all well and I cant wait to reconnect with you and and the blogs I follow. Fran

Bag it and Tag it

I know that you haven’t seen any crafty post from me since the pendants but that will be changing soon. I don’t have anything working right now well uummm I do but they are going to be other post. Any hoo I am going to take July to get my stuff organized. I have been making craft kits. I have been taking my supplies and grouping them together into 14x16 zip bag (love those things). I started with my yarn and have been figuring out different projects for them. I took all the Granny Block that I made for the Linus blankets and grouped into the different colors and put one blanket in a bag. I also have been printing off all the projects that I have had been wanting to do and matching them up with the yarn I have now they are ready to go to. All the other yarn that have no home yet and that is acrylic will be used for cat cage blankets for animal shelters (more on that in another post).

I will be doing this with all my other craft stuff as well. The best part about having kits at the ready is that when I want to make something I don’t have to dig for all the parts. I can just grab a bag and go. I have crafters A.D.D. so having different projects ready to go is great!!

My cute supervisor always keeping his eyes out on my work lol.

I have a vacation coming in 2 weeks (woot!) and I am going to tear apart my mom’s basement. There is a small room down there that we hold all the xmas and Halloween stuff plus some junk that I want to try to see if I can turn into my craft room. I will still have to share it with the other things but I am great at puzzle piecing. As many of you know I have all my stuff in my bed room and it gets hard to craft in there because I work at night and everyone is trying to sleep. So if I can make my own Craft Dungeon in the basement I will be one happy camper!! Its going to take a lot of work but it will be sooooooo worth it!!!

I hope to get back to updating on here more often once my craft stuff is done. I just really haven’t because I just have given up on making things. But if I can make the craft room happen I know that I will be a lot more productive. I also hope to start making TTMT videos again and get back into the groove that I had 5+ years ago.

See ya soon!

Race Bib Holder

My Best Friend Jess birthday was coming up and I need to come up with something to make her. Well she has taken up running so I wanted to make something to encourage her. I started like I always to turn to GOOGLE!! I looked up gifts for runners and I found these awesome race bib holder. Woot I can make one of them!! Ok I know what you are thinking … what the Heck is a race bib?! Well you know the numbers that runners wear in a race? That’s a bib.

Materials:

11x14 wood plaques
Craft paint
Stencils
Print out words
C hooks
Picture hangers

Decorate the plaque how ever you like but know that most of it will be hiding behind the bibs so if you were going to use 3d elements don’t place them there. Most bibs are 8w x 6h but there are longer ones so leave some extra room at the bottom.

Add the hangers in the back before you add the c hooks TRUST ME it’s a lot easier that way!

If you are wondering what the row of C hooks at the bottom are for it’s for the metals they will win or get for participating in a run.

I gave it to her yesterday and she loved it…..  YAY!!! She was wondering what she was going to do with the bibs cause she sees her brothers running bibs all over the house and she didn’t want to have them all over.

See ya next time!

Diy Yarn Swift

I just ordered some yarn from Knit Picks and I am so happy! BUT there is one small problem. I don’t have a yarn swift to wind up this yummy yarn! I have the ball winder but no swift what’s a girl to do…….    MAKE ONE!!!!

I found some things online about diy swifts but I didn’t have any of the things that they used like Tinker toys or K’nexs. I looked around my house and didn’t come up with any thing. *sigh* I have almost given in to ordering one but I just couldn’t spend that money just yet.

I had to stop at the dollar store to pick up some other things and eureka!! I found it!!! I picked up 2 hook racks and 2 packs of clamps. I knew that I had a cake decorating stand that I would use as a lazy Susan to make this thing spin.

So here is how to make a 1min $4 dollar swift

Open the racks all the way up and clamp them down to the cake stand in a x form and your done!!!

Add yarn and spin way!!

The swift can move faster then the video. I don’t know why its moving so slow.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Epilepsy/seizure disorder is a common condition of the central nervous system, which over 3 million nationwide.

On June 22, 2013 I'll be helping the Epilepsy Foundation Eastern Pennsylvania continue to support and advocate for the people affected by epilepsy/seizure disorder at the annual Summer Stroll. Funds raised through the Stroll will enable the Foundation to expand and support the services it currently provides, including annual education conferences and programs, support groups, and its annual week long summer camp, for the 109,000 children and adults with epilepsy/seizure disorders and their families in an eighteen-county service area of Eastern Pennsylvania.

Cross Town #3

Hiya everyone!

I know I said that I would be blogging more but I have a problem all the things that I am working on right now I have to keep a secret LOL. I am in 2 swaps, 1 secret project that I don't want to jinx, acts for a meet up later in the year and some journal pages that would get me baned or kicked from blogger if I post them. The only thing that I could show is the jewelry box that I want to make but that is just in the planing stage.

BUT at lest I have the Cross town challenge to post about. Challenge 3 was to make a file folder mini and this is what I came up with. Yes it's a Halloween one but that was the paper pack that I find 1st. I do have some paper but not like many out there and a good bit is Halloween. What can I say I LOVE Halloween.

I used
Graphic 45 paper
file folder (duh)
Craft paint
Lindy's  Spray

I need to still add the ribbon to close it but I couldnt find it LOL.

Cross Town Challenge

Hiya everyone.

I am taking part in a challenge that was put on by Felicia. It's a weekly challenge that she and a friend are doing and said anyone can join. For the info on the challenge click here.

I missed week one on purpose!!! Fel was trying to kill me with card making. I am not really a card maker but I am getting the hang of it but that's not the reason I skipped it. The reason was lest then a month ago I had to make a 100 that's right you read 100 Christmas cards SOOOOOO I needed a break from cards. LOL I will come back to do that on tho.

For week 2 Tracy was MUCH nicer ( I still love ya Fel ) and posted Put a 2013 on it. It could be anything you wanted but you just had to have 2013 on it .

So this is what I made. Its the cover for my 2013 art jouranl. I am using a binder that has a clear front pocket and that slips right into it.

Can't wait to see next weeks challenge and I hope you will join us!!

New Year is here

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

As the New Year has started resolutions come into play. I really tried to think of some this year and all that I could come up with is the usual lose weight, stop smoking and organize. The only problem is that those just don’t mean much I have made them all before and they just don’t stick. Then I watch a friend’s TTMT and she said something that really hit me. She was talking about her resolutions and said the word BALANCE and that’s what I truly need.

I NEED to find that happy balance of family, work, life and crafting. So many things have happened in 2012 the biggest was my surgery and that a lone has made me look at things differently. I don’t want to get all sappy or really heavy on this post so I will not go into detail.

Any way back to 2013 this is some of the things I will be working on.

*I need to manage my online life. I have so many accounts everywhere and I really need to stream line them. I don’t know which ones I will be getting rid of but I will let people know as I do. By the same token I will be using some again. There are some groups that I would really like to get back to as well.

*As far as crafting will that’s in a few parts.

1 is kicking myself in the butt to do more

2 really chip away at the poor forgotten projects

3 post them

*I want to get back to reading blog post again and keeping in touch more.
I know that this will not be a quick thing but I am ready for the quest of Balance and I am looking forward to less stress that it will bring. Hey who know those old resolutions mite finally work out if everything falls into place.

See ya soon
